What is the real biodegradable material?

        In order to meet people's growing environmental needs and respond to national policies, many biodegradable material manufacturers are paying more and more attention to the production of environmentally friendly degradable materials. The rapid development of environmentally friendly biodegradable materials has gradually become the future development trend.

        Compostable biodegradable materials are divided into two categories: one is bio-based compostable materials, and the other is petroleum-based compostable materials.

        Bio-based compostable materials are divided into:

1. Materials directly derived from natural animals and plants, such as starch, cellulose, lignin, etc.;

2. Polymer materials such as polylactic acid (PLA), aliphatic polyester (PHA), etc., obtained through chemical synthesis of natural materials;

3. Blends of natural substances and the aforementioned polymers.

       Petroleum-based compostable materials derived from petroleum, such as polybutylene terephthalate (PBAT), polyethylene glycol (PEG), polybutylene succinate (PBS), and so on.

        These compostable biodegradable materials are not only directly derived from natural animals and plants, but other types also have defects because they are dependent on composting facilities. The more suitable conditions are 60°C (40°C-80°C is fine), 90% It can be degraded rapidly under humidity conditions. But in the natural environment, although it can still be completely degraded in the end, it will take at least a few years. Under low temperature, drought or inactive microorganisms, the degradation time will take longer. For example, in the Arctic, it still exists for decades or even hundreds of years.
